MAGIK KARPET KARAWAN

After a vibrant year filled with studio recordings, video shoots, gigs, and jam sessions, the instrumental quartet Magik Karpet Karavan lands their magic carpet at Fusion for the second year running. The group brings with them a colorful potpourri of funk, disco, jazz, and psychedelic music. Founded in Berlin in 2018, the band mercilessly collides Turkish folklore, 70s funk arrangements, Latin American clave, bouncy Afrobeats, and crisp hip-hop grooves, creating their own contrasting and multifaceted sound. The band moves with nuance across the entire spectrum, from delicate whispers to violent roars, written parts to free improvisation.

Whether space western or deep sea waltz, groove or ballad - MKK's sound continuously paints pictures and takes listeners into previously undiscovered sound worlds.
